This is an interesting job. The original PSEG transformers were inside the building. New codes require the transformer to be outside the building to ensure safety.
We had to intercept the high voltage primary conductors and install a PSEG approved TS inground concrete junction box to splice and extend the primary conductors. We installed a new PSEG approved concrete pad for the PSEG transformer.
We also installed (5) sets of 500 MCM copper conductors from the new pad mounted transformer into the building and reconnected the existing 1600 amp 3 phase 120/208V service equipment.
