The work involved repairs due to damage from a fallen tree.
The service shorted during the event, energizing the ground system in the house.
A new 200-amp mast service was installed including:
- Copper conductors
- New 2 1/2″ galvanized mast
- New PSEG approved meter socket
- Refeeding the 200-amp panel
- New ground rod and utility grounding terminal
A second 2 1/2″ galvanized mast was installed for phone and cable as required by code.
A megger test was done on all circuits and wiring to ensure safety in the event of concealed damaged caused by the energized ground.
A temporary certificate was provided to PSEG and an emergency reconnect was done.
An application for inspection was submitted and a certificate of approval was obtained for the property owner..
